Why WigBay is wonderful…
By those who really know!
At ParkLife we always rave about the benefits of holiday home ownership and the great lifestyle that comes with it – but then we’re biased. So instead of taking our word for it, take why not take it from those who really matter – the owners!
Fortunately for us, Karan and Andy Grier, who have owned a caravan at WigBay Holiday Park since 2008, were happy to oblige…
Caravans brought Karan and Andy Grier of Mauchline, together. They met in 1980 on a holiday park in Silloth where their parents both owned caravans and after falling in love, they married in October 1981 and completed their family with three sons.
Karan – a former child minder – and Andy who was a landscape ground worker – often took the family on holidays to Flamingo Land or to their parents’ caravan, but they never owned a holiday home of their own.
As the years passed, the couple – who have seven grandchildren aged four months to eighteen years – retired, but never stopped working! Karen looks after three of her grandchildren, while Andy works in his son’s kitchen extension business. With such hectic lives and a phone that never stopped ringing, the Grier’s realized they needed somewhere they could get away to and relax – the time had come to buy their own holiday home!
The couple decided the Fife area would be a great destination for caravan ownership, but despite viewing lots of parks, they couldn’t find the right location. However, while out driving one day, they noticed a sign for WigBay Holiday Park and decided to go and take a look. As they drove on site they really liked the park with it’s beach front location and after being shown the perfect caravan – a Cosalt Devon – they decided to go ahead and buy it and have never looked back, upgrading the caravan two more times over the years.
When the Grier’s arrived in 2008, WigBay had no facilities but Karan and Andy didn’t mind as they socialized in their caravan or went to the town. But with new facilities coming thick and fast the couple are enjoying the benefits. The grandchildren have endless fun playing in ‘WigBay Wonderland’ while Karan and Andy often go to the ‘Duck or Grouse’ bar and restaurant to join in with parties and events or to watch the live entertainment and they love the fact it’s just a short stroll away! The pair even met new friends recently who’ve been on site as long as they have, but until the bar opened their paths hadn’t crossed!
The Grier’s really enjoy owning a holiday home at WigBay and say they would happily recommend the park to anyone because it’s, a “special place with great staff in a lovely location.”
So If you’ve been thinking about buying a holiday home of your own, come along and see WigBay. With its idyllic beach location and so much to enjoy on site, like the Griers, we promise you’ll never look back.
